Straps, Slings, and Swings... Oh My! Sexy Spreader

Excited? We are. Our Straps, Slings & Swings... Oh My! series begins with none other than the Sexy Spreader, our best-selling product. For a bondage and role-play item with such an obvious use, you might think it's pretty straightforward. But it isn't. Read on, and we'll explain.

Sexy Spreader

What is it about?

First up, our best-selling product. Our Sexy Spreader is what's known as a "positional aid." It's self-explanatory, right? It can be the star of traditional missionary position, a complement to doggy style, and much more.

Who should try it? / Why try it?

We asked Renée Burwell , a certified sex therapist and educator, about bondage, role-playing, and accessibility, and she had this to say:

"Ropes and other forms of bondage are great ways to provide additional flexibility and support while trying out various sexual positions."

Impressive, right? Accessibility is very important, as is body confidence, and it doesn't stop there. Sexy Spreader can be your new favorite thing if you want and/or need...

Less pressure on lower joints - Consider this option if you have lower body issues, such as hip, knee, or ankle pain. Sure, your partner could hold your legs, but think about what else they could do if their hands weren't full...

More stimulation : Building on the first point, using this sex toy to free up your partner's or your own hands allows you to touch and stimulate other erogenous zones more. Most of us need a lot of stimulation to reach orgasm.

Mobility + D/s Options - Sometimes you want a little support in tired positions, other times you might be in the mood for something extra hot. Padding and long straps make this a fun substitute for a body belt (aka bondage belt) or restraints.

Where to try it?

It's ready for anywhere you'll tango horizontally and have privacy. Its appearance isn't too intimidating, so it'll easily pass through TSA, so you can also take it on your next couples vacation.

As?

The padded center goes behind your neck, while the cuffs go around your ankles and help keep them (and your legs) in the missionary position. The straps can be adjusted as needed. And while that's the most obvious use, we're here to change things up with some additional ideas.

Missionary but better

For this one, just follow the instructions above. For added comfort, the padded center (between the two buckles) goes behind the neck, and the padded cuffs go around the ankles. The tie-down loops extending from the center can be used as desired.

Asking your partner to tilt their hips upward can help you find new internal hot spots. If they want to do this but also want their hands free, grab a pillow or two and place them under your buttocks or hips.

Obedience school

Who doesn't love this classic? It looks good on everyone and adapts to a wide variety of body types. But let's face it, sometimes sexy time starts to slip from traditional doggy style to downward dog (shout out to yoga!), right? So what do you do? Sexy Spreader can help. Use the cuffs around your ankles, but with the center strap positioned in front of your body instead of behind your neck.

Your partner can use the additional straps to pull your hips against theirs, allowing them to control most or all of the movements. Now that's sexy.

First class seat

What I like most about this position is that it is extremely customizable.

In this case, the center strap goes under the chair, and the cuffs go around the wrists instead of the ankles. How short the straps need to be will depend on a couple of factors: what you and your partner want and/or the style of seat you're working with.

For armless chairs or chairs with solid and/or more restrictive arms: Use short straps. Adjust them to keep the sitting partner's arms on the sides or seat of the chair.

For open-arm and/or less restrictive chairs: Use short straps, but not too short. Wrap part of the strap around the chair arms if you find it more comfortable to keep your forearms higher.

Struggling with options? Try both. Since you're sitting and restrained, your partner has complete control. This way, they can arouse and please you with their hands, their favorite vibrator , or however they prefer.

Hands up

This last one will undoubtedly be a crowd favorite. Close the center padding on the outside of the door, shorten the straps, and use the handcuffs to secure the wrists. You can leave a little slack or make the straps very short to keep the arms raised and achieve a sexy, topless pose. The unrestrained partner is free to admire and tease as much as the bound partner can stand...

Not sure about the door sides? We'll try to simplify it. The center strap should go on the outside of the door—the side that shows the hinges when it's closed.

  • If you loop the center strap over the door, close it, and don't see any hinges, you're all set!
  • If your door opens inward (hinges open when closed) and you still want to try, proceed with caution. Locking the door can help secure it, but it may not prevent it from opening during play if your partner pulls too hard on the latches.

How did we do? We hope we've given you some ideas for playing with our Sexy Spreader. It's definitely more versatile than you might imagine. It's a great option for mobility and/or comfort options, couples who want to spice things up, and those who enjoy truly personalized pleasure!
