Immerse yourself in sex with water games
Share
When it comes to your next sexual adventure, you might be wondering how you can enjoy the heat while staying cool. Two words: water sex. Whether in the shower or in your pool, we have all the tips for safe, fun, and refreshing water play this summer!
Let's get started!
Tip #1: The right lubricant
Many people think that lubricants are universal: any lubricant should work in almost any situation. But nothing could be further from the truth.
While our tried-and-tested water-based lubricants are often the best choice for most sexual experiences, not so much for water play! Instead, try a silicone-based lubricant like Pure Pleasure . Why? Because silicone lubricants are waterproof. Its long-lasting, smooth, and slippery texture ensures that it won’t soak into your skin, unlike most water-based lubricants, making it ideal for water play. Additionally, you can also use a hybrid lubricant , which combines the amazing qualities of silicone and water-based lubricants; however, we recommend using a silicone-based lubricant if you have one available.
Tip #2: The right toy
Before submerging your favorite toy, check that it's water-safe. Most, but not all, of our toys are bath- or water-safe. What's the difference? A bath-safe toy can be submerged in up to one meter (3.28 feet) of water for up to 30 minutes, while a shower-safe toy means it can get wet, but shouldn't be submerged. If you have any questions about your product's water resistance, find the toy on our website and go to the "Features" tab to determine if it's bath- or water-safe.
Tip #3: Location
Not all water is created equal! Whether you're thinking about playing with water in the privacy of your shower, bathtub, or in places like a pool, hot tub, or the ocean, there are a few things you should keep in mind first.
Sex in the shower or bath:
While having sex in the shower or bath is a great alternative to a bed, it's also much more slippery! To avoid slipping, we recommend using a non-slip shower mat for extra grip and taking advantage of any safety bars you may have. Also, avoid bath salts, bubbles, or oils, as they can increase the risk of infection.
Sex in the jacuzzi:
First and foremost, we want to remind our readers that hot tubs DO NOT prevent pregnancy, despite the rumors you may have heard. And while we're on the subject, submerging a condom in hot chlorinated water could damage, tear, or break it, so keep that in mind when you decide to turn up the heat in your hot tub.
But enough about the cons, what about the pros? If you think back jets are nice... you wouldn't believe how much they can help with foreplay! Plus, sex in a hot tub is just that: exciting.
Sex in the pool:
While the thrill of having sex in a public pool, hot tub, etc., may be appealing, we don't recommend it. Not only for the obvious reason (breaking the law), but also because public pools can be full of bacteria, putting you at risk for infections. Stay in a private pool for safe, enjoyable fun!
Sex on the beach, river or lake:
Connecting with nature and your partner can be an exciting experience, no doubt! But, as with other forms of water play, these places can also involve certain risks. Unlike your shower at home, in open water, you don't know for sure what might be present, such as germs or parasites, that could cause infections in your most intimate areas. If possible, find a private, sheltered spot with shallow water where you and your partner can stand.
Tip #4: Test the waters!
What you enjoy in bed might not always excite you in the water. In fact, sex isn't your only option! Experiment! Try different types of stimulation, positions, and toys. We'll even help you get started with two of our favorites!
The Flamingo
As we mentioned earlier, shower sex can be slippery! Standing positions, where you can brace yourself for leverage, are ideal. Standing in front of your partner, lift one leg for support and balance on the nearest edge of the tub. For extra grip, have your partner wrap their arm around your leg at the knee, and wrap your arms around them while facing each other.
Flirty Float:
If you prefer to have sex in the pool or other open water, use buoyancy to your advantage! In shallow water, climb into an inflatable raft face down with your legs dangling over the edge. Position your partner behind you, similar to the wheelbarrow position.
Tip #5: Aftercare
Just like any other sexual experience, aftercare is key! Yes, even if you just had sex in the shower, you should shower thoroughly. Clean your intimate areas and go to the bathroom to flush out any harmful bacteria in your urinary tract that could cause an infection. If you used a toy, be sure to clean it with cleaning spray and store it in a toy bag to prevent the growth of bacteria, fungi, mold, mildew, yeast, and viruses.
Dare to try something new and incorporate water games into your sexual routine!
